Care & Wear

Fine 18K gold, made effortless — preserved with intention.

Solirah pieces are designed for refined, everyday luxury.
18K gold is naturally long-lasting, water-friendly and resistant to tarnish — but like all fine jewellery, it benefits from mindful care.

Fine 18K gold refers to material purity — designs may include lightweight constructions for comfort.

This guide outlines how to preserve the beauty and integrity of your 18K pieces over time.

DAILY WEAR

Made for everyday elegance

18K gold offers an excellent balance of purity and strength, making it suitable for regular wear.

To maintain the structure and presentation of your jewellery, we recommend:

• avoiding heavy impact or pressure
• removing jewellery during high-intensity activities
• keeping pieces away from abrasive surfaces
• ensuring fine chains are not pulled or overstretched
• wearing earrings securely with appropriate backings

Lightweight fine-gold designs should be worn with the same care as any delicate jewellery.

WATER & PRODUCTS

Water-friendly, not chemical-proof

18K gold is naturally safe around water and will not tarnish from:

• showering
• washing hands
• light, everyday exposure

However, repeated contact with the following may dull the surface over time:

• chlorine (pools, spas)
• harsh cleaning agents
• strong detergents
• hair sprays and mists
• alcohol-based perfumes
• high mineral-content hot springs

Water alone does not harm 18K gold, but soaps, shampoos and products used in water may leave residues that dull the surface

CLEANING

Simple care keeps your glow

To clean your Solirah piece:

  1. Soak briefly in warm water with a drop of mild soap

  2. Gently wipe with a soft, lint-free cloth

  3. Rinse and pat dry

Avoid:

• abrasive polishing cloths
• ultrasonic cleaners
• toothpaste or baking soda
• chemical jewellery dips

These may scratch or compromise fine 18K surfaces.

SLEEPING & STORAGE

Nighttime care

We recommend removing pieces before sleeping — especially:

• hoop earrings
• delicate chains
• fine bangles or bracelets

This prevents accidental bending or catching on linen.

Storing your jewellery

Store each piece separately to prevent surface friction.

Ideal storage includes:

• a soft pouch
• lined box
• individual compartments

Avoid placing jewellery loosely in bags or drawers where it may rub against other items.

NORMAL VARIATIONS

Because Solirah pieces are curated from small-batch workshops across the Gulf region, variations in the following are considered normal:

• hallmark placement
• minor differences in thickness or weight
• subtle shape differences
• maker’s marks
• finishing texture

These variations are characteristic of small-batch workshops. If you have concerns about the purity or construction of your piece, we’re happy to assess it.

STRUCTURAL CARE

Fine 18K jewellery — especially lightweight design structures — can bend if subjected to pressure.

Please take care to:

• remove bracelets before lifting heavy objects
• avoid pulling on chains
• avoid squeezing or flattening hoop earrings
• ensure clasps are fully closed before wear

As with all fine-walled 18K jewellery, care should be taken to avoid impact or pressure, as this may alter the shape of lightweight designs. Misshaping caused by external pressure is generally consistent with normal wear-and-tear.
If you believe your piece has a structural issue not caused by external force, please contact us so we can assess it under your consumer rights.

IF YOUR PIECE LOSES SHINE

This is usually due to natural oils, lotions, or daily residues.

A gentle wash and soft cloth will restore the sheen.
For deeper cleaning, consult a professional jeweller experienced with 18K gold.

WHEN TO REMOVE YOUR JEWELLERY

For best long-term care, remove your pieces before:

• swimming in pools or spas
• applying hair products
• high-impact sports
• gardening or lifting weights
• sleeping with long chains
• exposure to chemicals or bleach

This preserves the structural integrity of lightweight fine-gold designs.
